Coney Island Review

Of course I have to fit in some beach time during a city trip.

Coney Island is the birth place of the hot dog, and Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs is right on the boardwalk. There are other places as well, but they’ll all be serving similar foods of hot dogs and burgers.

The Beach

The water is chilly in the Spring and Fall, but the weather is still warm enough to enjoy laying out in the sun. The boardwalk has a few cute beach shops as well that sell tee shirts, sweaters, towels, and more.

It took about an hour to get to the beach from Times Square by subway.

There are other activities aside from enjoying the beach that can be done on Coney Island. Every June, Coney Island hosts an art parade called the Mermaid Parade. There is also a rollercoaster park, and fireworks on the beach! Fireworks shoot off at 9:30pm every Friday night during the Summer season. Fireworks generally start the last weekend in June and conclude the Friday before Labor Day.
