3 Things I Wish I Knew Before Visiting NYC for the First Time

1. There is a Lack of Public Restrooms

Do yourself a favor and go to the restroom after dining in a restaurant even if you don’t have to.

2. You Need to Plan your Trip around Meals

Most places require a reservation or have a long wait if there’s no reservation.

In the midst of the pandemic in 2021, many restaurants in Manhattan require a proof of vaccination in order to dine there. Keep a photo copy or a picture on your phone for proof.

3. Everything is Further Away than it Appears on the Map

Plan your itinerary accordingly. If you don’t want to walk everywhere, there is an abundance of public transportation. New York City has Uber drivers, taxi drivers, Citi bikes, and of course the subway. The subway is the cheapest and quickest way to get around the city, but it is confusing. Not to worry though! Google Maps is up to date on all the lines.
