Ports of Call Resort Turks & Caicos Review

I booked my stay at the Ports of Call Resort in Turks and Caicos through Airbnb. The price was right for the quality of the rooms, amenities, and proximity to the beach. I recommend this resort if you’re sticking to a budget but wanting to have some luxuries for your Turks and Caicos trip.

Proximity to the Beach

The walk to beach is about 5 minutes, and the access road is just to the right of the Seven Stars Resort. Although you’ll have to cross a busy street from the Ports of Call Resort to the Seven Stars Resort, it’s not dangerous. The drivers are very attentive of pedestrians and frequently stop to allow them to cross the street.

At the beach, the resort has its own area with lounge chairs, umbrellas, and a booth to pick up paddle boards, kayaks, and life jackets (free of cost). My Plus One and I got life jackets for one day to go snorkeling at other beaches. Since the booth closed at 6pm, we needed to be back by then to return the life jackets.

The resort has a pool and hot tub with colorful lights that are on at night. Beside the pool, is a bar, a few dining tables, and a ping pong table. There is also a small children’s park and BBQ area behind the pool surrounded by blooming bushes and palm trees.

The hotel gave me and my Plus One two drink passes to use at the poolside bar and two beach towel passes. I found we didn’t need the beach towels because the chairs the resort had on the beach were comfortable enough to lay without a towel on top. Plus, I always air-dried myself.

Lastly, there is a gym on property and there is dining and shopping directly in front of the hotel.

The Rooms

The room we stayed in was very luxurious. There were two beds, a couch, a coffee table, and a dining table with two chairs. There were also good room amenities such as a mini fridge, safe, TV, and two magazines with guides for restaurants and excursions on the island. My favorite thing was the bathroom! There was a walk-in shower and I could choose which water pressure I wanted – a soft waterfall or a hard pressure focused in the center of the shower head.
